Rope Toys
Rope and tug toys: braided cotton, knotted ropes, rope-and-ball combinations and multi-knot designs for dogs who pull and shake.
Why rope
Rope gives a dog something to work at, and the fibers pass between the teeth as they chew, which helps scrape plaque. It is also the best shape for two-player tug, which burns energy faster than fetch for most dogs.
Safety
Supervise rope play and retire a toy once it starts shedding long strands. Swallowed fibers are the real risk with rope, not the chewing itself. Rinse and air-dry a rope toy that has gotten wet.
